PARANIBBĀNA STATUE GARDEN

This was a project that the late-Venerable Phra Ajahn Bounthan Prasavath (Viccito Bhikkhu) wanted to be seen before his passing.

In honor and dedication of Phra Ajahn Bounthan Prasavath, the community has gotten together to make this garden project possible.

The initial concept is to have the sleeping Buddha statue facing the Sīmā Uposatha Hall (Water Shrine/Monastic’s Actions Hall), placed on a 3rd level of the garden.

The 1st level is ground level and which has a central garden, and goes up a few steps to the 2nd level. The 2nd level are wings facing the east and west of the temple grounds. Both of the 2nd level wings then go up a few more steps to meet at the 3rd level, where the Sleeping Buddha will be placed.

How this may turn out depends on several factors, such as zoning laws. Construction codes, cost of materials used, civil engineer design costs, material used for the Sleeping Buddha.

As of 2-26-2025, we are still on stage 1 of 4:

Stage 1: the research (cost & materials to be used) and design stage for this project. (Monastics & Laity Mutual Planning)

Stage 2: the zoning, codes, & negotiations stage of the project.

Stage 3: materials procurement (acquiring materials for construction) and fund-raising (FUNDRAISING GOAL TO BE POSTED)

Stage 4: Construction Phase (Both laity volunteer work and hired construction crew work)

If you wish to financially donate and support this project, come to our monthly festivals and specify the amount and project you wish to support.
